Parenting Plans under the New Georgia Law

Starting January 1, 2008, the newly enacted change in Georgia custody law will take effect. Under the new law, every divorce affecting minor children or other custody case filed in Georgia will require a parenting plan that maps out where your child will spend each day of the year, including holidays and school vacations. Parents must be able to anticipate where their children will stay. Furthermore, the changes will affect how the court looks at the custody preferences of children age fourteen or older.
